Display in List controls the amount of information shown in the Results Window.
Type of Scan controls the way Virus Clinic examines files.
Scope of Scan controls the types of files Virus Clinic scans. Quick Scan is faster than Full Scan.
ALL examined files causes every file examined during a scan to appear in the Results Window - that is, even files that do not contain irregularities are listed.
Irregular files ONLY means that only those files containing known viruses or other irregularites appear in the Results Window during a scan. This is the recommended choice over ALL examined files.
Use checksums calculates values to determine if a file's code has changed since the previous checksum. This option creates an invisible Checksum Log on each scanned volume.
Use filters causes Virus Clinic to check each irregularity against a list of common irregularities. If a match is found, that irregularity is not reported.
During a Complete check, files are examined for known viruses AND irregularities.
Infections ONLY restricts Virus Clinic to examining files for known viruses, clones, and virus-like resources. Files are not examined for irregularities.
During a Full Scan, all resource files and data files susceptible to infection are examined for infections. This is slower than a Quick Scan.
During a Quick Scan, only executable files (e.g., applications and startup documents) are examined. This is faster than a Full Scan.
